Stageira was an ancient Greek city located near the eastern coast of the Halkidiki peninsula, which today forms part of the Greek region of Central Macedonia. It is best known as the birthplace of Aristotle, the Greek philosopher and polymath, student of Plato and tutor of Alexander the Great.
The ruins of the city lie about 8 kilometers north-northeast of the modern village of Stagira, near the town of Olympiada.
